With Creativity

This is my friend Chandra or Chani to all who know her well.

 She is related to me by marriage and we share nieces and nephews. Her sister Lori is married to my brother Ben.

  Chani has five terrific kids and one devoted husband. Her mother-in-law Mary lives with them as well as her own Mom and Dad.

Their home is lively, loud, and full of creativity. If you love art. and pets, and huge gardens, and home school, and canning, and projects, and babies, you would be in heaven if you dropped by. I always feel welcome when I visit, and love the scent of outdoors mixed with baked goods just pulled from the oven. It fascinates me to watch all the people in her home interact. Each one doing their own thing, and Chani calmly making some sort of order from the chaos. She creatively manages her home while letting each person be a person. It is a wonderful thing to witness and an even better thing to emulate.

 Sometimes when making friends or keeping friends, we fail to recognize the different gifts God has given us as individuals. We scoff at His creativity by not enjoying the unique personalities He has placed in our lives. Chani has the ability to see His "art" in and around her, and really appreciate it. This clever perspective allows her to explore her own creativity, and to create some beautiful things. I personally have benefited from her artistic genius with wall murals, paintings, photographs, and home decor. She is also my dedicated partner in the coordinating of our church nursery program and embellisher of all available wall space. She adores each small child placed in her care, and they have grown up looking at her art as some of their first ever memories of God. So this week as you try to make a friend or be a friend think of how you can use the creativity given you by the Creator to reach out and bless one another. You too can be like Chani and find it, see it, paint it, enjoy it, and Flood your life.
